San Francisco, April 25— San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) partners with local community organizations to present nearly 40 free programs during Tech Week, running from May 10–17. The week-long celebration features both educational opportunities and fun activities for all ages and skill levels, empowering individuals to enhance their digital literacy skills. Highlights include AI education, basic tech help, smartphone fundamentals, building a robotic arm, DJ basics and a guided photowalk in the Mission. 

"It is hard for many people to keep up when technology changes at such a fast pace,” says SFPL’s Digital Equity Manager Maricela Leon-Barrera. “Smartphones are small computers filled with so much potential, but there are not many places to get basic support quickly. That’s why the need for digital literacy, the ability to use technology to meet your information and communication needs, is more important than ever. Tech Week at the Library showcases the amazing local agencies advancing digital literacy in the City. From email, Excel and smartphone basics to AI, robotics and internet safety, Tech Week offers something new for everyone to learn for free!"   

To help bridge the digital divide, Tech Week takes place throughout San Francisco, at various Library and partner locations, as well as online, featuring some programs in Spanish and Chinese. It is an opportunity for the community to learn and explore the possibilities of technology. 

SF Tech Week is produced by two dozen San Francisco and Bay Area organizations, including Tech Exchange, Dev/Mission, Community Living Campaign, Felton Institute, Curry Senior Center and Tenderloin Tech Lab, that provide technology training and resources.
